Support Candice Davis and Family

Dear Fellow Dental Hygienists,

Recently, one of our colleagues, Candice Davis, was in a tragic accident on July 7, 2024, in Oldham County, Texas, which is near Amarillo. Candice, along with her daughter, McKenna, her mom, Emelita Hedden, dad, Mark Hedden, aunt, Violette “Elvin” Hedden and 4 dogs were traveling east on Hwy I-40 when a semi-truck towing a trailer, failed to stay in its lane and drove through the center median, causing the collision.

Candice, her daughter, dad and her parent’s dog were the only survivors, and they were all taken to an Amarillo hospital via Medical Air Transportation.  They all had serious injuries and Candice required 3 separate surgeries prior to being transferred to the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.  While in Oklahoma City, Candice had another surgery on her left side. Her family now faces many medical expenses along with funeral expenses to handle her mom and aunt.

Candice has been an integral part of the dental hygiene community in the state of Oklahoma for more than 20 years.  She has served on the Oklahoma Dental Hygienists’ Association’s Executive Board for many years, holding many positions. To this day, Candice strongly supports all hygienists in our state and willingly helps further our profession in any way she can.

Please consider donating to help our esteemed colleague, Candice Davis. Any donation amount is sincerely appreciated by Candice and her family. Please follow the Paypal link to donate.

It is with heartfelt empathy we are reaching out to you to help one of our very own!
