Course Description
Shake It Off: Ergonomics to Keep You Pain-Free and Performing at Your Best
Dental professionals frequently experience physical strain from repetitive motions and awkward postures, which can lead to discomfort, injury, and reduced career longevity.
This interactive course examines the importance of ergonomics, workplace stretching, and self-care practices that support physical comfort and help reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. Small adjustments to daily routines, both inside and outside the operatory, can make a significant impact.
Upon successful completion of this course, attendees will:
- Identify common ergonomic challenges in dental practice that contribute to musculoskeletal strain and injury.
- Apply ergonomic strategies to optimize chair positioning, patient seating, and instrument handling.
- Demonstrate targeted stretches and exercises that reduce tension, improve flexibility, and prevent injury during the workday.
- Integrate ergonomic principles and brief self-care moments into daily routines to support physical and mental well-being.
